The Meeting entitled “Natural products in pest management: Innovative approaches for increasing their use“ was held from 25 to 29 September 2018.

The Meeting was supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Co-operative Research Programme: Biological Resource Management for Sustainable Agricultural Systems (CRP) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

This conference has brought together a selected group of experts having different backgrounds (molecular biology, genetics, new technologies, biochemistry, chemistry, plant physiology, plant pathology, entomology, host-parasite interactions, regulatory aspects), who gave lectures covering the latest and most advanced research, followed by long periods of discussions. The group discussed how the newest ideas, approaches, solutions, or methodologies coming from different fields of application may renew and increase interest in the field of natural compounds for pest management.

The main output of the Meeting will be a publication of a special issue of the Scientific Journal “Pest Management Science” containing reviews, scientific and perspective articles prepared by each attendee.

The meeting was proposed, organized and chaired by Dr. Maurizio Vurro (CNR-ISPA), Dr. Stephen Duke (USDA-ARS) and Prof. Antonio Evidente (UNINA). It was held in the wonderful and exclusive Center of the Rockefeller Foundation located in Bellagio, on the Como Lake. Here the official link of the event:https://naturalproducts2018.wordpress.com/
